Painting, the physical mixing of wild dark and light colors is a meditative act, freeing my imagination. Painting is like building a cathedral, requiring a solid structure, cross hatches and beams, flying buttresses adding panache and shoring up the base. Unlike a cathedral, the end result is not preordained or thought out, it is more like an image developing out of the fog.
